Players can level up their Renown level by gaining Fame from completing Quests given by the townsfolk, killing rare monsters inside the dungeon or by purchasing Renown levels from Rollo the Minstrel.
Renown levels act much like regular levels and provide the players with different kinds of benefits from levelling it up. With each level up players are given three skill points to use as well as a new title. Fame is also used to unlock new items as some of them require a specific level of Renown.
Stronger versions of items can be found that require a certain Renown Level to use. They are indicated by a prefix of Elite, or Legendary, to the base name of the item, as well as a medallion over the weapons icon in the inventory.
